Sports Medicine (Shoulder, Knee, & Elbow)

Dr. Edward S. Ashman was born in Johnson City, New York. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1992 from Cornell University, New York. Dr. Ashman attended Albany Medical College and received his Medical Degree in 1997. His Internship and Residency in Surgical Training were completed at Albany Medical Center from 1997 to 2002. Under Dr. Robert P. Nirschl, Dr. Ashman completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Nirschl Sports Clinic/Georgetown Medical Center in Washington, D.C. in 2003. During his Fellowship, Dr. Ashman served as a team physician for the George Mason University's football and basketball teams.

Dr. Ashman is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Ashman is fellowship trained in surgical treatment of athletic injuries of the shoulder, knee, and elbow. He is involved with community sports and is a team physician for Cheyenne High School. Dr. Ashman has authored articles on sports elbow, including tennis and golf elbow injuries. He has also written articles on sports ankles injuries, joint cartilage injuries, and a video on tennis elbow surgical techniques. Dr. Ashman joined Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center in August of 2003.
