Dr. Thomas C. Kim was raised in Los Angeles, California and received his undergraduate education at the Georgetown University College of Arts & Sciences in Washington, D.C. Dr. Kim graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry and was nominated into Sigma Xi for research in organic chemistry. As an undergraduate, he also went on to receive a Minor in Theology. While there, he was accepted early to the Georgetown University School of Medicine via their Early Assurance Program where he went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree.

Dr. Kim completed his orthopedic training in 1999 at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program, after completing a year of general surgery at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. After completing residency, he completed a sports medicine fellowship in 2000 at Harvard University in Boston, under Dr. Lyle Micheli. While there, he provided coverage for the Boston Ballet, the Boston Marathon, the Eastern College Athletic Conference Track Championship, the Bay State Games, and for several local college and high school hockey and football teams. The fellowship also consisted of training at Boston Children’s Hospital where their division of Sports Medicine was the first facility in the nation devoted to the treatment of sports injuries in pediatric and adolescent athletes. He has given presentations and published on various sports within orthopaedic surgery, and is trained in cartilage restoration surgery.

Dr. Kim is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. At Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center, he primarily is specialized in disorders of the knee, hip and shoulder with an emphasis on arthroscopic surgery of these joints. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and is an avid sports fan. Dr. Kim has been a valued member of Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center since 2002.
