Dr. Patrick S. McNulty was born in Châteauroux, France. He has lived in many states and countries while being brought up in a military family. Dr. McNulty received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (Magna Cum Laude) in 1984, as well as, his Medical Degree (#1 in class) in 1988, both from the University of Miami. In 1993, he completed his Orthopedic Surgical Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, affiliated with Texas Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, in Dallas, Texas. Dr. McNulty then completed his Spine Fellowship at the Scoliosis and Spine Center, affiliated with Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Towson, Maryland in 1994. After his Fellowship, Dr. McNulty was active duty at the Department of OrthopedicSurgery at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia for three and one half years. He was head of the Division of Spine Surgery and was involved full-time with orthopedic residency training.

Dr. McNulty is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgery. It is important to note that he had top board scores for both of these board certifications. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. McNulty is a member of the American Medical Association, North American Spine Society, Scoliosis Research Society, and several honor societies, including Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi Honor Society for Engineers, and Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society for Electrical Engineers. He has presented numerous scientific papers at national scientific meetings and he has published numerous spine/orthopedic journal articles and book chapters.

Dr. McNulty’s practice includes the comprehensive spectrum of Spinal Disorders with a special interest in Complex Spinal Reconstruction and Scoliosis. He prides himself on keeping up to date with new and innovative techniques, while maintaining the perspective of traditional time proven methods. He also is committed to maximizing reasonable conservative therapy before implementing surgical options. Dr. McNulty has been a valued member of Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center since September of 1997.
